Ring Hop
About Ring Hop
Ring Hop is a one-button reflex game. Your comet races around two orbits, and a single tap hops it between them. Dodge the barriers, grab sparks for bonus points, and hold your nerve as the orbit speeds up.
How to play
- Tap, click or press Space to hop between the inner and outer ring.
- Avoid the red barriers. Each one you pass scores a point.
- Collect gold sparks for three bonus points.
- Your comet gets faster as your score rises.
How scoring works
Each barrier you pass is worth one point, and each gold spark adds three. Sparks are the fastest way to climb, but one sometimes sits on the ring you would rather leave. Skip a risky spark when a barrier follows closely, because a single hit ends the run.
How fast does it get?
Your comet speeds up with every point you earn, so collecting sparks also raises the pace. Speed stops rising at about 72 points, when the comet travels roughly two and a half times faster than at the start. If you can stay alive at that point, the challenge stops growing and the run becomes a test of concentration.
Every run is beatable
Barriers are placed randomly, but the gap between them is never shorter than a fixed reaction window, even at top speed. A crash is always avoidable. Barriers also appear about 40% of a lap ahead of you, so you get time to plan a sequence of hops instead of reacting to one barrier at a time.
Tips for longer runs
Look ahead of the comet instead of at it. Hop late enough to clear the barrier in front of you, but check the other ring first, because hopping early can put you straight into the next barrier. Keep a steady rhythm when barriers alternate between rings. If you need a break, switch tabs and the game pauses until you resume. Press Space on a keyboard for the quickest response, or tap anywhere on the play area on a phone.
