Kite Canyon
About Kite Canyon
Kite Canyon is a one-button flying game. Hold to lift your kite and let go to fall as you weave through a winding canyon. The walls close in and the wind picks up the further you travel.
How to play
- Press and hold the screen, mouse button or Space to climb.
- Let go to fall. Your kite keeps its momentum, so start each move early.
- Touching the canyon walls ends the run.
- Collect gold sparks for five bonus points each.
How scoring works
Your score grows with the distance you travel, so a long, calm run beats a risky one. Each gold spark adds five points. Sparks appear at regular intervals, usually a little above or below the middle of the canyon. Grab the ones you can reach smoothly and skip any that would drag you toward a wall.
How hard does it get?
The first stretch is straight and wide, so you can get a feel for the controls. After that the canyon starts to curve. It narrows to about half of its starting width by around 300 points, and your speed keeps rising until about 500 points, when you travel roughly twice as fast as at the start. From there the challenge stays level, so a steady player can keep going.
Tap, do not hold
Holding the button for a long time builds up speed that is hard to stop. Short, regular taps keep the kite level and make small corrections easy. Save longer holds for climbs. The most common way to crash is to overcorrect: you climb too hard, then fall too far, and each swing gets bigger than the last.
Look ahead
Watch the canyon ahead of the kite instead of the kite itself. The walls curve gradually, so you can see each turn coming and start moving early. Stay near the middle of the gap, where you have the most room on both sides. If you switch tabs, the game pauses until you come back.
