Twin Tide
About Twin Tide
Twin Tide is a sliding puzzle where one swipe moves two boats at once. Each boat glides until a rock, the edge of the board or the other boat stops it. Bring both boats to rest on their matching docks at the same moment.
How to play
- Swipe, drag or press the arrow keys to move both boats in the same direction.
- Boats keep sliding until a rock, the edge of the board or the other boat stops them.
- Boat 1 belongs on dock 1 and boat 2 belongs on dock 2.
- Both boats must stop on their docks after the same move to clear the level.
What par means
Every level shows a par, which is the fewest moves that can solve it. Par starts at 3 on level 1 and climbs to 13 on level 20. You can take as many moves as you need to clear a level, so par is a personal challenge, not a limit. Matching it earns a perfect message.
Levels and board sizes
Levels 1 to 7 use a 6×6 board, levels 8 to 14 use 7×7, and levels 15 to 20 use 8×8. A larger board gives each boat longer runs, which makes it harder to picture where a slide will end.
Use one boat as a wall
A boat stops when it hits the other boat, and that is the key to most levels. Without a rock in the right place, you can often park one boat first and let it act as a blocker. Think about which boat needs a stopper, and move the other one into position.
Passing a dock does not count
A boat that slides across its dock keeps going, so the dock only counts when the boat comes to rest on it. Look at what sits just past each dock. A rock or wall beyond a dock tells you the direction the boat needs to arrive from.
Plan both boats together
Since every move affects both boats, a slide that helps one can undo the work of the other. A move that leaves a boat against a wall can be useful, because that boat will stay put when you slide toward the same wall again. Undo takes back one move at a time, and Reset restores the level. On a keyboard, W, A, S and D work as well as the arrow keys.
