About Star Chart

Star Chart is a visual memory game. Stars flash on a grid for a moment, then hide, and you tap every place a star appeared. Each level adds a star, the grid grows from 3×3 to 7×7, and the stars show for less time as you climb.

How to play

  1. Press Start. Stars appear on the grid for a short moment.
  2. Once they hide, tap every square where a star was, in any order.
  3. Find them all to move up a level. A wrong square costs a life and ends the round.
  4. You have three lives. The game ends when they are gone.

How the levels grow

Levels 1 and 2 use a 3×3 grid with 3 stars. Levels 3 to 5 use a 4×4 grid with 5 or 6 stars, levels 6 to 8 a 5×5 grid with 8 to 10 stars, and levels 9 to 11 a 6×6 grid with 11 to 13 stars. From level 12 the grid is 7×7, with one more star each level until it reaches 19 stars at level 17.

Glimpse time

Stars show for 1.6 seconds on level 1. Each level takes 0.05 seconds off, down to 0.8 seconds from level 17. On the bigger grids you will not have time to look at every star one by one, so take in the whole pattern at once.

Missing a star

A wrong square turns red, the stars you had not found yet show faintly, and you lose a life. The next round stays at the same level with a new pattern, so a miss slows you down without sending you back. Score counts every star in each round you complete, so later levels are worth more.

See shapes, not dots

The best way to hold many stars is to see the shape they make. Three stars in a corner might look like an L, and a line across the middle is one thing to remember instead of four. Link nearby stars into shapes, then remember where each shape sits on the grid. Rows and columns that have no stars at all are worth noticing too.

Tap the hardest stars first

The order of your taps does not matter, so start with the stars you are least sure of while the picture is still fresh. Lone stars far from any group are the ones that fade fastest. Leave the easy groups for last. Your best score is saved in this browser.
